Farmer's Market Sonnet 1

If I declare my love for you today,
Amidst tomatoes, berries, cukes and beets,
Would you just smile and look the other way,
Send me off with organic fruits and meats?
I have a Farmer's Market kind of lust.
These weekly visits fuel a natural heat.
No artificial chemicals adjust
My craving for some home-grown, dirty, sweet,
And succulent companionship with you.
Together, we could feast and gorge and eat
Fresh corn and basil, melon (honey-dew),
Some berries (black and blue)- a luscious treat.
But fearing your rejection, I won't speak.
Perhaps I'll have a bolder heart next week.

Guess where I went today?  Happy weekend.
